Meet Ben

I'm Ben, a physiotherapist with over a decade of experience helping people recover, rebuild, and perform at their best. I’ve worked across private practice clinics in Surrey, Hampshire, and central London, supporting high-performing professionals, semi-professional athletes, and elite sportspeople.

For three years, I served with the Ministry of Defence, delivering rehabilitation to Army, RAF, Navy, and Special Forces personnel. That role demanded the highest standards of performance care, ensuring individuals could recover fully and return to peak condition under pressure.

Away from the clinic, my passion is cycling. The Surrey Hills have always been my home trails — a place to push limits, refine technique, and stay connected to the outdoors. Mountain biking fuels my drive to keep learning, improving, and helping others reach their goals.

At Cadence, my mission is to combine expert physiotherapy with a genuine love for cycling, so every client can optimise recovery and elevate their ride. As a fully mobile service, I bring treatment directly to you — at home or wherever suits best — making physiotherapy convenient, accessible, and always focused on your goals.

“Melancholy is incompatible with cycling.”

— James E. Starrs.

  • A thorough one-hour consultation where we take a detailed history, assess your movement, and identify the root cause of your pain or performance limitation. You’ll be left with a clear understanding of your condition, an individualised treatment plan, and hands-on therapy to start your recovery right away.

  • Focused 30 minute sessions designed to build on your initial assessment. These sessions combine manual therapy, exercise progression, and performance advice to keep you moving forward towards your recovery and performance goals.

  • A full one-hour consultation via video call, covering the same detailed history-taking and movement analysis as an in-person session. You’ll receive tailored advice, self-management strategies, and a structured plan to start your recovery from the comfort of home.

  • Short, targeted video sessions to monitor your progress, update your rehab plan, and keep you accountable. Ideal for clients managing recovery independently or balancing busy training and work schedules.

  • A proactive assessment for cyclists and active individuals who want to reduce injury risk and enhance performance. We’ll identify movement imbalances, weaknesses, or technique issues, and provide corrective exercises to keep you riding stronger, longer, and injury-free.

  • A one-hour session where we discuss your goals, medical history, and suitability for acupuncture. Treatment uses evidence-based needling techniques to relieve pain, promote recovery, and restore balance in the body.

  • Shorter sessions focused on progressing your acupuncture treatment plan. These appointments are tailored to your individual needs, helping to maintain pain relief, improve recovery, and support your ongoing performance goals.

Testimonials

Real riders, real results.

I was training for an endurance gravel event but hip niggles kept derailing me. Ben refined my strength plan and recovery schedule, so I hit the start line confident and pain-free.

— Sarah Gravel Rider

A lingering shoulder issue had me worried I’d need to cut back. The hands-on treatment sessions eased it fast, and with simple follow-up drills I’m back riding hard without discomfort.

— Alex Trail Rider

Long road rides used to trigger stubborn low back pain. Ben’s targeted mobility and core progressions tackled the root cause, and within weeks I was riding further without the ache.

— James Road Cyclist

After a crash my glutes were underpowered, hurting climbs and control. Ben’s progressive rehab rebuilt power and balance — now I’m stronger and more confident on technical trails.
